Kilmallock - Cill Mocheallog takes its name from a 7th century Cill or Church called after St Mocheallog. In the 13th century the Normans founded the town of Kilmallock, which became the chief town of the Earls of Desmond and one of the richest and most important inland towns in Ireland.

Places to see include the old Collegiate Church, the lovely 13th century Dominican Priory, Blossom Gate, John's Castle, The Old Town Walls and an interesting little museum.
